High Key

So I missed the last assignment because I was too busy to shoot anything, so I thought I'd give it a try afterward. I really liked what a lot of the people were able to accomplish, so I had to try. Anyway, here is my attempt at high key. Let me know what you guys think.

I finally gave in and bought myself a D300!

After I sold some old video equipment I had on ebay, I managed to scrounge up enough cash to purchase a new Nikon D300. I really loved my D70, but it was 3 years old which with technology is ancient. It will remain in my kit as a trusty back up and Jacqui has expressed interest in using it to expand her photography as well. I was never too happy with blowing prints up larger than 8 x 12 with the D70. The D300 should handle 20 x 30 prints with ease. Anyway, I didn't have much time to play with it today, but here are a few sample shots I took of Autumn, Jacqui, and Jake. Unfortunately, Bradley was taking a nap at the time. I'm still learning this camera, so I know it's capable of even better shots.

Another Try at "The Doors"

Well, I decided to make another try at shooting the doors, but this time at sunset and nighttime. I don't know how they really turned out, but here they are. Let me know what you think!

Photography Class Project 2

A friend of mine pointed me in the direction of a photography class offered by the City of Scottsdale. Luckily, I decided to sign up and I'm having a blast with the different projects the teacher has assigned. This week she assigned all of us the task of shooting a public art sculpture in Scottsdale named "The Doors" by Donald Lipski. I got up really early one morning and decided to trek down to Camelback and Scottsdale Road to take some pictures.

More Photos From My Collection

I know this is a repeat, but I had to photoshop this a little to bring out the color.
